January 13, 2003: Greeting from NGRT4N Team

Hello and Happy New Year,

First, we would like to thank all the people over the world who support us, whether by seeding feedback, by reporting bugs, or by donating.

2012 was a fruitful year for our project. After we decided in May to host our software in SourceForge, we recorded more than 1800 downloads from more than 87 countries. Considering this very increasing interest around the project, we decided to extend NGRT4N Monitoring Dashboard Suite to support not only Nagios and the derived systems, but also other popular open source monitoring tools. Hence, one of the major improvements in the software was to add the support of Zabbix.

Beside, the growth of the Project put upon us a high responsibility concerning the features and the quality of the software. Therefore we carried out many optimizations and enhancements in various aspects of the software, notably on the GUI and on internal data structures and algorithms.

Notification SystemFor 2013, many improvements are also expected. By the beginning of the next month, we’ll release a new version of RealOpInsight (version 2.2.0) that will support Zenoss in addition to other relevant new features. For example, the application will now enable System Tray Notifications (see the screenshot) to let you stay informed -- even when the Operations Console Window is inactive.

But that is only a starting point. We intend to continue to build software that will contribute to make open source monitoring more effective and easier than ever. And for that, your support is very important. It's always a pleasure to us to welcome new contributors.

See the different ways to contribute. Write us/Make a donation

The NGRT4N Team

After a month of testing, we are proud to announce that the final version of RealOpInsight 2.1.0 (M-Sylvie) is now available for download. See the release notes for more information.

This new release was also the occasion to launch our new web site. This new design aims at improving your user experience when navigating through the site.

Enjoy and don't hesitate to send us your feedback at contact@ngrt4n.com. We love hearing from you!

October 27, 2012: New Beta Release With Zabbix Support

We are happy to announce that RealOpInsight 2.1.0 is now available for beta testing. Codenamed M-Sylvie, this release brings new features in many areas and stabilizes previous versions: support for Zabbix, better performance thanks to optimized network communications, more robustness in message exchanges, bug fixes, tested on the latest Windows 7 and Windows 8 operating systems. Check the release notes for a detailed list of changes or go straight to download.

October 27, 2012: The UI Module of NGRT4N becomes RealOpInsight

Due to the support of Zabbix, we decided to release the UI Module of the NGRT4N Software Suite as a separate package called RealOpInsight. Actually, since the Daemon Module is not required for Zabbix integration, it appears necessary to separate the two software. The Daemon Module has been renamed NGRT4N Daemon Service for Nagios. The both packages are still developed and maintained by NGRT4N Project. See on the FAQ for more information.

July 29, 2012: NGRT4N 2.0 Community-Tested Release Available

We are proud to announce that NGRT4N 2.0 is now available for download. This version improves the previous version and brings out many new features. Among others, these new features include a new architecture (See the Figure below) based on a distributed messaging system and advanced event processing algorithms. The result is a powerful system that makes the monitoring of your business processes easy than ever.
